Justice for POW’s
It’s great to see the Australia Government recognise the Special Service given by the POW’s. These men and women served in terrible conditions doing jobs that were often lethal at the hands of a cruel enemy. This enemy had no regard for the wellbeing of those forced into unpleasant labour in very difficult conditions. The enemy had a military objective and they used the POW’s with little regard to their wellbeing. The military objectives were all that mattered.
Fast Forward to the 1970’s
Australia has the F111 this aircraft is doing service as a deterrent to those counties who have hostile intentions against Australia. It is a tense political time for Australia.
However the new F111 has a serious problem it is leaking fuel from its internal tanks and this is taking aircraft away from being an effective deterrent to hostile neighbours. There was a Military Objective to have the F111 serviceable.
The F111 Deseal Reseal Process was developed to fix the leaking fuel tanks. There is plenty of history around this issue now but let’s compare it to the POW situation.
The first thing to consider here is that the guilty party here isn’t a cruel and evil enemy. It is the Australian Government and the RAAF.
The military F111 Deseal Reseal workers like the POW’s had no choice they were forced to do unpleasant and dangerous work. The RAAF knew the work had a level of lethality attached to it just like the cruel and evil enemy knew POW’s would die doing the work forced upon them.
So like a cruel enemy the Australian Government and RAAF forced its own people to perform dangerous and lethal work to meet a Military Objective.
The Government had a military objective and they used servicemen with little regard to their wellbeing. The military objectives were all that mattered.
The Australian Government has done little to resolve the terrible crimes committed against its own servicemen and women in regard to the F111 Deseal Reseal process. It has done just enough to make it look like it has done something.
I started the fight for victims and I 10 years ago and in that time the public has seen the cruel outcomes for the victims involved in the F111 Deseal Reseal process. It that 10 years the 2 Governments that have been in power have done the absolute minimum that they could for the victims. The truth is they have done nothing of any real value.
- The victims remain uncompensated. (Don’t believe DVA spin)
- The families of victims suffer greatly.
- People continue to die without justice.
Where is the special recognition for the victims of the F111 Deseal Reseal process?

Once enough of us have died so it looks like the Government is doing something without needing to actually do anything there will be some change.

Re POWs then minister for DVA Bruce Bilson made the comment that he based his decisions on European POWs conditions by watching “Hogan’s Heros” on TV.
